Whilst looking through my portfolio I recently found this 16-page brochure detailing the proposal to replace Ise Community College, Kettering, with a new science and business academy.
The brochure was designed, photographed and typeset by myself for the Brooke Weston Partnership who are sponsoring the academy proposal. The brochure is themed around the future building will be a notable landmark for Kettering. The design also contains a montage of the current skyline, which was photographed in an afternoon and reworked in Adobe Photoshop. The flame logo was created in Adobe Illustrator and relects the colours from the Brooke Weston Partnership logo.
Academy for Kettering – a new landmark
The government decides the future for these schools in April 2009. If accepted, the project, including new build, should be complete by 2012.
A second academy conversion in Kettering, sponsored by the United Learning Trust, attracted some controversy this year when the appointed headteacher, Mr Tim Hastie-Smith, withdrew from his position after controversial comments were published in the local press, and the national press ran a story about his decision to employ a teacher who had secretly filmed a pupil having sex while on a school trip.
